Wellness Wednesday: Coconut Oil Hydration

Wellness Wednesday: Coconut Oil Hydration

After Toro came to stay with us our human noticed one of his lips was a little dry. After a little research she started adding coconut oil to his food. His dry lip is almost completely cleared up. Coconut oil can improve a dog’s skin and coat, […]

Wellness Wednesday: Meeting a Friend

Wellness Wednesday: Meeting a Friend

We are currently fostering 9 year old Toro from @frostedfaces (who is available for adoption). This is the first time we have ever fostered and our humans were a little worried because apparently we can be territorial over our house sometimes 🙄. To make sure we all […]

Wellness Wednesday: Ear Infections

Wellness Wednesday: Ear Infections

When my humans first adopted me the vet noticed that I had yeast infections in each of my ears. Since then my human has been extra proactive about keeping my ears clean. Twice a week she uses this ear cleaner on me with the tip of a q-tip (if you just hold the tip and don’t insert the whole thing into the ear they are safe) and cotton pads. She also uses this ear looker inner thing (or a otoscope) to get a better look at what is going on. I’ve been ear infection free since August….until this last week human noticed another one so now I’m on medicated ear drops again. Have you ever had an ear infection? Any tips for preventing them? Our approach seems to be kind of but not totally working.

Wellness Wednesday: Heart Specialists

Wellness Wednesday: Heart Specialists

Heart problems are very common in dogs, particularly in dogs over the age of 10. In June 2018 when Delilah was 11 we found out she had a heart murmur. We were working through diagnosis and treatment with our regular vet when our holistic vet […]

Wellness Wednesday: Delilah’s Frosted Fundraiser

February 14th would have been Delilah’s 13th birthday. We miss her so very much and in honor of her birthday this year we are doing a fundraiser to support a local senior rescue @frostedfaces. Delilah was so very loved. Her life was full of snuggles, puzzles, […]

Wellness Wednesday: Santa Barbra

Wellness Wednesday: Santa Barbra

If you follow our stories you know we just did a quick weekend getaway in Santa Barbara. We got alot of questions about doing a pup friendly vacay. Planning is key as is knowing your pup. We looked around for pet friendly accommodations and had our humans call ahead to double check and ask about rules. Pets aren’t allowed to be left alone in the room (which is a pretty common rule) so we knew that everything we did on vacation we would be doing together (all activities needed to be pet friendly). For meals we searched Yelp reviews that mentioned pet friendly and while out and about if we were unsure we sent a dogless human inside to ask before going inside somewhere. We were able to find a dog friendly beach and some pup friendly trails by looking online and getting some recommendations from friends. We go out with our humans alot to events and we go with main human to work so our humans were pretty confident that we could handle all these outings. If we had gotten overwhelmed though our humans were ready to pick us up and walk away for a moment so we could get a break (but we had an awesome time and did great). Our humans also kept an endless supply of treats on them which was amazing (all the snacks). Have you ever gone on vacation with your humans? How did it go?

Wellness Wednesday: Riley DNA

Wellness Wednesday: Riley DNA

The results are in on Riley’s @embarkvet DNA test. Our biggest surprise in Riley’s results is that he has 0 pomeranian in him (we have been incorrectly using #PomChi for years now). Riley is 7 different breeds, in order from strongest to weakest; chihuahua, boston terrier (surprising, and the […]

Wellness Wednesday: Kara DNA

Wellness Wednesday: Kara DNA

Wellness Wednesday: Resolutions for 2020

Wellness Wednesday: Resolutions for 2020

It’s that time of year where everyone is making New Year’s resolutions. Riley’s resolution is to get more naps and Kara’s resolution is to get more snacks. Our human’s resolution for us is to keep us healthy and keep looking for new and better ways to do that. We love our food @justfoodfordogs and think that gives us a great foundation for all things health but we always know there is more we can do and more we can learn. What is your New Year’s resolution?

Wellness Wednesday: Probiotics

Wellness Wednesday: Probiotics

We have been taking @JustFoodForDogs probiotic for 3 months now. Our human loves that it’s human grade and made in an FDA registered facilities. They are capsules so human opens them up and puts them on our food. It doesn’t really taste like anything to us so […]
